It was pretty damn early. Early enough to where it was still dark, but the sun threatened to rear its ugly head in the next manner of minutes, the sky turning a light purplish-red color. It would have been really pretty and something worth stopping to watch, if it wasn't such a pain in the ass thing to happen right now, right when the friendly neighborhood vampire was out and about with no protection from the deadly UV rays that would soon bombard her. She'd fly faster, but she was carrying all kinds of snacks in her arms for the show later.
Marceline's shadow crossed over some buildings as she flew over them, flying at a moderate speed so she didn't drop the grocery bags she clutched in her arms, chip bags crinkling and dip jars clinking, before she could hear a slight sizzling noise! Dammit, the sun was coming up over the horizon, and trust, Marcy did not do well in direct sunlight. Her studio/apartment was close, and the vamp queen was skirting the ground, trying to stay in the shadows of other buildings, not even seeing one of her jars fly out until it shattered on the sidewalk.
"Aww! My beans, man! I spilled the beans, hah." That really sucked, she thought, but it was the price to pay if she was gonna be this dumb about sun protection. She should have worn her hat when she left so close to sunrise, but she didn't, so what could she do? She unlocked the front door to the dumpy little building that acted as both her home and her office, so to speak. One half of it was like a kitchen/dining room/bedroom, with a door to a bathroom, while the other half was a little studio with recording equipment and a booth for recording in the corner. There were some chairs, and some mics, and her ax bass leaned up against the wall.
She sighed, putting the grub for later on the table in the dining room. It was mostly for her guest, who wouldn't be here for...hours, really. She didn't eat, so it was all for him. She just had to wait for him to get here. She spent a few minutes packing things into her tiny, shitty little fridge, but then she just sat down and watched the clock. This was gonna be boring...
